Tammy Marie Goodworth von Langen passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Jupiter, Florida on December 5th, 2023, at the age of 63. She was born on December 1st, 1960, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Tammy graced this world with boundless compassion as a devoted mother, cherished daughter, loving sister, and passionate animal lover. She was blessed with three girls - Meredith, Jenna, and Lillie – whom she taught kindness, strength, and the importance of opening their hearts to every creature in need.
Known for her profound love for animals, Tammy’s home was a sanctuary for every furry or feathery friend who needed a home. She provided a safe place for all creatures that crossed her path and gave them unconditional love and compassion. Whether caring for abandoned strays or advocating for animal rights, Tammy gave a voice to the voiceless and will forever be remembered for her overflowing love for all of God’s creatures.
Growing up in Fort Lauderdale, Tammy loved life in the sun with her two beloved sisters, Victoria and Laura. Tammy adored her mother, Margaret, who taught her to be a tough but kind young woman. She enjoyed riding her bike along the beach or driving around town with the top-down listening to The Beach Boys and George Harrison. Always seen with a beautiful tan and gorgeous blonde hair, Tammy loved dancing and enjoying the Fort Lauderdale nightlife. She will always be remembered for her fun-loving spirit and sense of humor.
Tammy is survived by her three children; Meredith von Langen of Lake Park, FL; Jenna von Langen of Jupiter, FL; and Lillie von Langen of Jupiter, FL; sister, Laura (Randy) Comer of Wilton Manors, FL; and nephews Phillip (Sidney) Lester of Richmond Hill, GA, and Thomas Lester of Wilton Manors, FL. She is also survived by her loving pets Mia, Charlie, Gypsy, and Spike. Tammy was predeceased by her father Thomas Goodworth, her mother Margaret Goodworth, and sister Victoria Goodworth Lester whom she will be reunited with in heaven. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at 11:30 Am at the First Christian Church of Wilton Manors 2725 NE 14 Ave, Wilton Manors. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale.
In celebration of Tammy’s life, let us remember the warmth of her heart and the legacy of compassion she leaves behind. Tammy will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the song of birds in the trees, the purr of the tranquil cat, and the bark of the playful dog – a gentle reminder of the profound impact one loving soul can have on the world.
