Marlene Alana Galluzzo

Marlene “Alana” Galluzzo went to join our Lord on Feb 11, 2025. She was the loving mother to Maura Hopkins, Dr. George Galluzzzo, Jr, Ann Mack and Tara Ward (David), daughter in law Missy, her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Lonnie” - Andrew, Carly, Casey, Connor, Connie, Addison and Zach and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored! Alana was predeceased in death by her parents Edward and Ann Meehan, brothers Sonny and Jimmy Meehan, and grandsons Jeffrey and Bo.

Born in Rocky River, Ohio Alana attended St. Ignacius Catholic High School. After high school she moved with her Family to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and continued her education, graduating from Barry University with a degree in early childhood education. Alana was a devout Catholic and was so honored to accept a teaching position at Our Lady Queen of Martyr Catholic School teaching 1st and 2nd graders where she could share her faith with her young ones. Her summers were spent being a lifeguard, spending time at the beach, which she loved, volunteering at church and being a member of the Catholic Club while always being a devoted daughter to her parents. Alana was a loyal, kind-hearted and loving person who devoted her entire life to her Family.

At the Catholic Club, Alana met George, the love of her life. Together they shared their love of faith and family, raising their children in Plantation, Florida. Alana became a full time Mom and homemaker and nothing brought her more joy than dedicating her time to her Family, raising her children and being a “bonus” Mom to many whom she loved like her own.

Once the children were grown, Alana and George moved to the Breakwater Surf Club neighborhood which brought her back to her love for the water and Sea. Alana had many friends in the neighborhood, was a Deacon at St. Sebastian Church and was often seen laughing and giggling with her grandchildren down at the water watching the ships come in and out of the Port. Her Grandchildren meant the world to Alana who will forever keep their memories of their “Lonnie” in their hearts! We will all miss our beloved Alana…..Mom, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend!
