Detective Christopher Raymond Sheehan 30, of Fort Lauderdale died suddenly on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Christopher was a seven year veteran of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and a member of the department’s S.W.A.T. team. Christopher graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School and the University of North Florida. Christopher was at the peak of his life. He loved fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends and his beloved dogs Kona and Mongo. He was honored to be able to protect and serve the public as a law enforcement officer and was to be married in October to the love of his life, Amanda Alois. Christopher will always be remembered and deeply loved by his parents, James and Connie Sheehan of Wilton Manors, his brother and best friend Ryan Sheehan and his wife Sarah of Jacksonville, his beautiful fiancée Amanda, grandparents Conley and Janet Smith of Fort Lauderdale and Dennis and Marian Sheehan of Plantation, uncle and aunts Dennis and Colleen Sheehan of Weston and Carmine and Kathleen Giuffrida of Boca Raton, and cousins Keri, Logan and Teagan Jorcin of Weston, Craig Sheehan and his wife Carolyn, Joseph Giuffrida and Carmine Giuffrida. A visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Fort Lauderdale Police Officers Association, 4500 S.W. 13 Street, Plantation and a celebration of Christopher’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday August 26, 2016 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 S.W. 5 Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. In Lieu of Flowers, Christopher’s family request that donations be made in the name and memory of Christopher Raymond Sheehan to the Fort Lauderdale Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 31, 735 NE 3 Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL. 33304
