Lucille ( Brochu ) Letourneau, beloved wife of Lucien (Luke ) Letourneau passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Court of Palm Aire in Pompano Beach, Florida on June 6, 2014. She was born on June 24, 1934 in Quebec City, Canada. Luke and Lucille moved to Florida in 1961 with their two young children. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Luke (Lucien) Letourneau, her children Lynda ( Wheeler ) Letourneau, Langis Letourneau, his wife, Dawn Letourneau. Her grand children Daniel Wheeler and Dylan Wheeler of Asheville , North Carolina and Kelli Saunders and Travis Saunders of Cooper City, Florida. She is also survived by two brothers, Gaston Brochu ( his wife Marjo) and Jilles Brochu ( his wife Reajane) and her sister Laurette Tremblay ( her husband Bernard). There are many nieces and nephews who also grieve her loss. Luke and Lucille loved life , loved living and enjoyed music, singing, dancing, theater, visual arts and people. They worked hard together to provide a good life for their family as well as enjoyed life. They were often found dancing in the kitchen and in community. They were entrepreneurs’ who bought and sold multiple mobile home parks in the Daytona Beach area. They retired to Pompano Beach in 1995. Lucille loved nature, birds and gardening. No plant or pet suffered under her care. She was a very nurturing woman who loved to serve her family. In her retirement she took up painting and has gifted her family and friends with cherished art. There will be a Memorial Mass held for her At St. Gabriel’s Church in Pompano Beach at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11th, 2014. There will be a separate Memorial Celebration of her life for Fellowship Gathering at The Court of Palm Aire in Pompano on Tuesday, June 10th at 2:30 pm.
